I see quite often that people just start their workout routines without taking a few minutes to get their bodies ready for it. The truth is that to fully reap the benefits of exercise you must warm up.
Take 5-10 minutes to do some progressive aerobic activity that utilizes the muscles that you will be using during your workout and some flexibility exercises. This will make your muscles start contracting and, to meet their increasing demands for oxygen, your heart rate, blood flow, cardiac output and breathing rate will increase, getting your body ready for exercise and ensuring a better performance.
Warming up it’s important because:
Increases your metabolic rate so oxygen is delivered to the working muscles more quickly
Gives you better muscle control by speeding up your neural message pathways to the muscles
Improves joint range of motion
Improves the elasticity of your muscles
